“When I was there, all I knew was playing in November,” he said.
In his playing and coaching days in the red and gold, Padgett won five sectional championships and went to state twice. Padgett played for Scecina Memorial - the same team his Bulldogs will play Friday night - and later went on to coach for his alma mater. Since his arrival, the mantra became “Play in November” - something that was second nature for him before taking over the program. Even though this Centerville team has done what no other has done before, it’s still not enough. This season, the Bulldogs checked all three off the list. Before this season, no Centerville team had ever played in November.
